It's worth separating hard evidence from projection here. Reuters found no evidence that China has deployed an armed humanoid robot with an operational PLA unit, and battlefield conditions still pose unpredictable variables that challenge robot reliability, according to a Carnegie Mellon researcher cited in the report.

China isn't alone in exploring militarized humanoids. The U.S. Army launched a competition for "militarized humanoid capabilities" covering reconnaissance, security, obstacle clearing, and hazardous-material operations, with up to $1.25 million available for follow-on contracts and finalists testing systems with military experts this year, according to Reuters.

Even so, Reuters notes the U.S. robotics industry trails China significantly in two-legged and four-legged robot development, and has previously reported that Unitree, one of China's leading humanoid and quadruped makers, based some of its best-selling robot dog designs on innovations originally financed by the U.S. military.
